I thought I'd share with you some of the hilarious wisdom of the OCR examiners board, who invented the stimuli (the questions) for our recent art exam.
The questions are designed as abstract concepts to stimulate imagination towards an idea for some kind of art work, they're supposed to be pretty random, but this year the chaps at OCR are just taking the biscuit. A sample of their best inspirations:
Peel, Maternal, Repetition, Shed, Vacuum cleaner, Figure with telephone, Buttons, Mythological creatures, Drawing.
... So, if you thought last year's "figure shaving" was as bad as it gets, think again. I kinda get the idea that the person inventing these things writes them in 10 minutes in his living room, and chuckles inwardly at the thought that "vacuum cleaner" could earn someone a place at Uni. [Yep, I love art. ^^]
I decided to choose "Erode" because it corresponded with an idea I'd had already had (the best idea is not to rely on the question paper) which gave the opportunity for plenty of wandering around in the countryside, but I suppose we'll have to wait for a few weeks to see what becomes of it...
